Stories from the space between roots and stars.

Author · Founder · Marketer

Darling Jimenez is a marketing executive, founder, and author who builds businesses, brands, and books on the power of a well-told story. She is the founder of Palma & Ink, an independent publishing house dedicated to amplifying underrepresented stories and bringing them to mainstream readers.

A bilingual writer of the Dominican diaspora, she works across young adult and romance — telling stories that live in the in-between: the space between an island homeland and a new shore, between honoring where you come from and reaching for who you might become. Roots That Reach the Stars is her debut novel, with a second novel, a romance, now underway.

The Debut Novel

A story shaped by choice, not circumstance.

Marisol Reyes inherited her family's strength, their silence, and their sacrifices — but what if honoring them means becoming the first to let go?

Under a mango tree and a sky full of stars, a daughter of the diaspora learns that roots and reaching are not opposites — they're the same act, measured in different directions.

Novel No. 2 · In Progress

A second story — and a turn toward romance.

After the debut, a new novel is taking shape: a romance about love that crosses borders, languages, and the distance between who we were and who we're becoming. It's early days — but the first news will land in the newsletter before anywhere else.
